12 Things Only Someone Staying Away From Home In Diwali Will Understand

With the crème de la crème of Indian festivals- Diwali is just round the corner. It’s one of your favorite festivals and the moment you get to know that you will not be able to make it to your native place this time, it feels like why the heck are you alive. You start hating the reason why you couldn't make it (may be college or office work load), with the bottom of your heart.

Here are 12 things that only someone staying away from home in Diwali will understand:-

1.    You were hatching plans since you came back from the Holi trip but suddenly your dream gets scattered..and you are like...

   2.     Every second person asks you about when are you leaving for Diwali and you are killing that person in your head.

3.     You hate people around you making Diwali plans or ask you to join in their shopping.

   4.     Your Mom keeps on asking you daily (over the phone), koshish kar aane ki beta

   5.    You even get nightmares of being alone at Diwali night

   6.     Your roommates going to their hometown annoys you the most.

     7.    You feel like an orphan while assisting them in packing their stuffs.

8. You almost cry when local people around you ask you to come to their place on Diwali as  no one can fill that void.

   9.    You feel like dying when you see lights and candles all around your neighborhood and imagine yourself fixing lights at your home too!

  10.    Every time you call your siblings they make you feel jealous by sharing the familiar hustle bustle going around.

11.    Nevertheless it gets a little better when your partner says “don’t worry main hun na yahaan” <3 <3

   12.    And finally on that night you find ways to fill that empty space that looms large.  You recall last year’s memories and satisfy yourself by saying “koi na next time”.. may be!

Wishing you all a very happy & prosperous Diwali!!!
