South Extension " Incredible Delhi"

South extension which is locally known as “South Ex” by the Delhites is situated on the Ring Road and falls on the eastern side of AIIMS. Surrounded by the rural locations of Kotla Mubarakpur, South Extension makes a great contrast with its urbanity. Internally it is divided into South Extension I and South Extension II. There is just 45 minutes run from the Nizzammudin Railway Station and 1hr run from the New Delhi Railway Station to reach South Extension. While it takes only half an hour to reach South Extension from Sarai Kale Khan ISBT. The Sprawling boundaries of South Extension engulf the major hot spots like Sarojini Nagar, Netaji Nagar, Khel Gaon and Defence Colony.
One can get bunches of private institutions in almost every lane of South Extension. This is the reason which facilitates the movements of student`s crowd in this area. Some of the famous mass communication colleges and tech institutions add the educational arena to the place.
Being the most posh market, the South Extension market place offers international shopping experience and it is a dream paradise for the shoppers. The hub of tourists is commonly seen in and around these markets. The markets remain closed on Monday and are the busiest on Sunday. The collection of the finest high-priced designer apparels is commendable here. Besides a plethora of music stores and clothing, many well known brands have their outlets in South Extension. Being frequently visited by the rich yuppies and delhi’s cash-flush teenagers, the market has almost all the top international brands. Benetton, Tommy Hilfiger, Nalli Saris, Tanishq, BG’s, Mehrasons Jewelry Store are few of the brands to name which have major outlets here. The huge departmental stores like Ebony, Big Jos and Hopps add on the spice to the happening market.
But the list does not end here…if you are bored of the big brands and shopping complexes then you can taste the exotic confectionaries and even can have the mouthwatering bhel-puris and golgappas which add the Indian flavor at the numerous stalls. But if you have got a rapturous mood and want to tango then this area has some exquisite restro-bars, clubs and discotheques to tingle your limbs and make you dance all night long.
The ambience of the place makes it adorable and the perfect blend of western as well as eastern culture makes the place worth visiting.

IMPACT ON WEALTH DUE TO COMMONWEALTH 2010

As we all know that world`s one of the largest event Common Wealth Games 2010 has been hosted by India this time. The whole nation was looking forward to this event and entire world was eager to see how India will welcome this event in a better manner. It was really a challenging task for India, how can it manage such a huge event at this stage where the country is in a Developing situation. All the events were decided to be held in the capital itself and you can say that just 2months before the arrival of the games the entire city was under – construction. All the metro links, roads, fly-over were been constructed with a tremendous speed. All man power was been exhausted in these constructions. This really showed the man force and economic superiority of India. The work which would have completed in minimum 2 to 3 years of time was completed in a span of few months, this shows that what exactly we can be but what we are! Was this development not required earlier?
Now we can see a new and a developed Delhi but what if this event would have not been organized here, do still we would have been able to see the new face of the city? No not at all, all the development works would have been going on in a typical Indian style. If we talk about the level of arrangement of the games and hosting the guests the only sentence comes on to the lips is “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED 101%”. If we take a look on the entire event we can say that Delhi has exceeded most expectations. Even why it will not be Rs. 2900 crores was the total cost of this awesome showbiz event. Each and every setup was fully accommodated with all facilities and requirements. All the foreign visitors were shocked by the hosting of India, not even at any stage it seemed like India is still a developing country. All the athletes and team officials of the participating nations was accommodated at the Games Village, which was being developed along the east bank of river Yamuna by the Delhi Development Authority. The village was a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide unmatched comfort and hospitality standard to the participating teams and was developed at a cost of USD 230.7 million. The village was spread over 153-acre area which contains 14 blocks, 34 towers & 1,168 air-conditioned flats that can comfortably house eight thousand athletes & team officials. This much comfort and facilities were given to the participants which was good but my concern is why these funds were not utilized when the nation required it the most. Even now there are financial problems in the nation but why the government does not use these funds instead of increasing the cost of the things to tackle with the problem. Even if 10% of the money which was funded for the CWG would have been utilized for financial growth of the country, there would have been a big positive change in the financial picture of the country. I am not against CWG but my question is that “If India is at such a level then why we are considered as poor country??” Can anyone give me the answer of this question that if a country can spend 2900 crores to organize an event then why more than 40% of the population is still below the poverty line. Still an average income of a poor family is Rs. 30 per day. What is happening in the nation, why rich are getting richer and poor are getting poorer??
These are some questions asked by a common man of the country and he is still waiting for the answer from the concern person who is responsible for this situation of the country.
